OR ....you could just tell the Elders ,if they ask, that what you discuss within your own home is no one else's business ! End of discussion . It really can be that simple .

need advice
by search4truth inmy spouse felt a need to tell to elders about me reading apostate websites and speaking against wt stuff , so they'll probably try to readjust my apostate thinking any time soon.
my spuse never see me reading anything but, during our arguments i did't keep my mouth shut and she knows that i had to read it somwhere and it wasn't jw.org.
could this get my in the trouble if my spose is the only witness and never spoke to another person about this stuff ?

In my local area it has always been the understanding among JW's that if you are in a business situation with a DFd person you could speak to them ,but just keep it about work . If you worked for a person that became DFd you did not need to quit your job over it ,the same advice applied just keep conversation business related .
I work in a couple of different jobs .One is a small gift shop. I have observed JWs looking in the window to see if I am working ,and walk on by if I am there.(or totally walk in the door and reverse right back out when they see me ) Then I have others that come in and act almost normal with me ,except them don't make common chit chat . The other place of employment had another Witness employee .During my fade she would notably shun me until other workers started noticing ,and asking her why she acted like that ...then she would at least acknowledge me .She finally quit working there ,and moved on to something else .
It will be interesting to see what happens at your job whether the witness will comply or quit .

Is College Worth It? Clearly, New Data Say...
by NewYork44M ina new set of income statistics answers those questions quite clearly: yes, college is worth it, and its not even close.
for all the struggles that many young college graduates face, a four-year degree has probably never been more valuable.. here is the article from the new york times:.

Good article .This has been on my mind .We just got back from celebrating our daughter in laws College graduation .
She was never given a primary education ,because her JW Mother thought she was protecting her children from 'the world ' by not sending them to school . The lack of education background meant my DIL has had to self teach herself everything ,it has taken long HARD work ,but she graduated with Honors !! She will now start in the fall at a University studying in a research program for cancer research .
When she called her Mother to tell her about the graduation ceremony ,her Mothers response was, " Well are you going to get a job at McDonalds now? ".......sadly the typical JW mindset that a college education is worthless ......

Fading means you just stop going . As long as they don't get you into a Judicial commitee meeting you could just go off the radar . It really depends on the local Elders ,some will let you alone ,others insist on tying up loose ends .

When you formally Disassociate yourself they make an announcement to the Congergation that you are no longer one of Jehovah's Witnesses . Same as if you were Disfellowshipped . The congregation will shun you ,but you still can attend if you want ...it is a public meeting .

What is the biggest regret or source of resentment because of being a Jehovahs Witness?
by stuckinarut2 ini'm sure we could all write long paragraphs about this question, but in a few words, what is your biggest regret, or frustration in life due to being a witness?.
what missed opportunities did it cost you?

My biggest regret/resentment was not going on to College . I was an honor role student all through High School ,and my Grandfather even offered to help me pay for College ....but the END WAS SO CLOSE !!! Instead I got married the day after H.S. graduation to another JW ,afraid if we waited the END would come before we had the chance .

Thank you all for the kind responses .
The lack of education was not the only hurdle my daughter in law had to overcome . Her Mother ,how to put this in a kind way ,is very eccentric ,and is a hoarder . The children lived in a home of major disorder . Their Father died when my DIL was 2yrs old . The oldest child in the family has mental and severe health problems ,and took the majority of their Mothers time ,and attention .The children were raised with NO structure what so ever ....they slept when ,and wherever they wanted ,ate food as they got hungry with no planned meals together .
The really sad thing in all this is that her Father was a college graduate ,and a Teacher ! Her Mother was also a college graduate with a nursing degree . Her Mother became a JW about three yrs before her husbands death . I am sure the JW teachings fed into her already askew world view . To this day she has no regrets of not providing adequate education for her kids ......it is just a crazy situation .
My DIL wrote a communications paper on 'Hiding a Hoard' that gave an isightful view of how it was growing up in that type of atmosphere . One of her recollections as a child was of her Fathers urn, with his ashes, being stored in the trunk of the car under piles of newspapers .... It just breaks my heart sometimes ... I am inspired by her strength and fortitude .
